INFLATED VENUS

The installation Inflated Venus consists of three large-format digital prints on water-repellent tarpaulin. The prints depict collaged photographs of sections of an empty whirlpool. All three parts visually connect to one another and can be arranged in sequence. Through the whirlpool, I have created a contemporary interpretation of various motifs that are attributed with both performative and transformative powers.
Inflated Venus imagines a whirlpool without a beginning or an end, posing the question of where the inside ends and the outside begins.

Die Installation Inflated Venus besteht aus drei, großformatigen Digitaldrucken auf wasserab-weisender Plane. Die Drucke zeigen collagierte Fotografien von Teilbereichen eines leeren Whirlpools. Alle drei Teile knüpfen bildlich aneinander an und lassen sich in Reihe legen. Mit dem Whirlpool habe ich eine zeitgenössische Übersetzung diverser Motive getroffen, welchen sowohl performative als auch transformative Kräfte zugesprochen werden.
​Inflated Venus imaginiert einen Whirlpool ohne Anfang und Ende und wirft damit die Frage auf, wo das Innen endet und das Außen beginnt.
